Couples HIV Counseling and Testing TA

In January 2009, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
(PEPFAR) HIV Counseling and Testing Technical Working Group,
together with the Zambia Emory HIV Research Group (ZEHRP), hosted a
planning meeting with several African countries interested in
expanding Couples HIV Counseling and Testing (CHCT) and receiving
technical assistance in this area. The primary purpose of the
meeting was for sharing challenges and successes related to CHCT,
and for work planning associated with a new PEPFAR ‘south-to-south’
technical assistance initiative for the expansion of CHCT. The
meeting provided the opportunity for face-to-face discussions
between potential partners in PEPFAR countries with ZEHRP and PSF
staff, who will be providing this technical assistance.
